| "Thank
you for visiting our website, the next best thing to visiting us in person! Based in Nantwich in the heart of Cheshire, we are extremely proud of this unique location for our canal holiday business. From Nantwich Marina you will have an unrivalled choice of routes which will take you through some of the best scenery in England and Wales. For those who take the 'Gateway to Wales', sailing across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which carries the Llangollen Canal 126 feet (38 metres) above the river Dee is the highlight of any trip. Designed by Thomas Telford and completed in 1805, it is the longest and highest aqueduct in Britain, a Grade 1 listed building and a World Heritage Site. Alternatively if industrial heritage interests you, you can even sail through local towns. There are websites which will help you plan your journey, giving you estimated times for your particular desired route and even suggest interesting places en route. It is difficult to be bored whichever route you take - take it easy, take in the surroundings and above all take pleasure in experiencing an unspoilt environment which never ceases to be a surprise and delight. |
Once
you have booked your holiday with us and you arrive at Nantwich Marina,
you will find a signposted dedicated parking bay. Get your bearings
and visit our reception, where you will be introduced to a skilled
member of the team who will assist you through the preparations for
your holiday. Nantwich itself is a small market town where you can
buy all the provisions you need for your trip - the Marina has a Chandlery
and Gift Shop, a Cafe and a Launderette, so read on, choose your holiday
and give us a ring, but don't delay as the best dates get quickly
booked up! |
